Some of our projects…
The Desai Memorial School Nairobi, Kenya
We have recently been fundraising to rebuild the school’s toilet block demolished to build a road into this very deprived area of Nairobi. We have also applied to Rotary International for a global grant to enable us to add six more classrooms to the school. Currently more than 400 pupils attend the school, children who would otherwise not get an education.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
A local version of the International Programme we sponsor up to two places for local young people aged between 16 and 18 who want to develop themselves and improve their leadership skills.
RYLA is a fully paid fully catered six day residential course held in late July/early August in the Royal Forest of Dean

Rotary Kids Out
Every June, the Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland together with KidsOut take over 29,000 disadvantaged children on a fun day out. The children visit the seaside, theme parks, adventure playgrounds and zoos, giving them all wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime.
Our club has been involved in the scheme for many years taking our own Swindon children to the Cotswold Wild Life Park. A number of members volunteer to accompany the children and their carers to ensure everyone has a brilliant day out.
We are looking forward to our next outing on Wednesday 12 June 2019

END POLIO NOW
Thanks to support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Rotary is very close to helping to rid the world of polio. We host a number of functions and educational sessions to raise awareness and donate to the cause through our monthly Foundation Draw.

Shelterbox is a global Rotary project. By raising funds Shelterbox is able to respond to natural disasters when ever they occur.
ShelterBox is made up of people who believe in shelter as a human right – that shelter from the chaos of disaster and conflict is vital. No ifs. No buts.
When people are plunged into crisis, normality is suspended. But good, quality shelter can cut through the chaos. This is why we provide the tools that enable people to rebuild homes and transform their lives.
We do things differently. We were born different. We started life as a small organisation in rugged West Cornwall in the UK and have grown to make a big impact across the world. We don’t follow the crowd – we’ve carved our own path that leads straight to the families we support.
Our biggest whole club project is the planning and managing of Swindon’s Famous Duck Race and Family Day Out where we raise over £10,000 each year for local causes. Thanks to sponsorship from Nationwide and Mcarthur Glen Outlet Village we are able to to guarentee every penny we raise goes to charity.
