Through the sale of ducks for Swindon’s Famous Duck Race we support a number of local charities including:

Big Breakfast Plus

Big Breakfast Plus has been supporting and serving homeless people in Swindon since 1993. We are the only charitable organisation in Swindon who provide a free cooked breakfast, cereal and toast 7 days a week, with unlimited refills of hot drinks and an opportunity for homeless people to meet and socialise in a warm and inviting place.

Big Breakfast Plus is also a safe place for outreach workers from local support organisations such as Threshold Housing Link, Swindon Night Shelter, Nelson Trust and Swindon Borough Council to provide advice and signposting to help with housing, health, drug and alcohol addiction, employment and other matters.

We believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day, that’s why we’re proud to serve over 7,000 hot and freshly cooked breakfasts to homeless people in Swindon every year! Over 75% of Threshold’s initial contacts with homeless people are made over breakfast.

Big Breakfast Plus is based at St Luke’s Church Hall in Broad Street and is open from 7-9AM Monday to Sunday. Annually, we welcome over 400 different individuals who are rough sleeping, sofa surfing or have no access to cooking facilities or income to pay for food.

CALM Children’s Cancer Charity

CALM is a registered charity, run by parents who have all experienced what it is like to have a child diagnosed with cancer.

CALM helps families that have a child receiving treatment at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire.  Most of the families CALM supports are based in the Swindon and Marlborough area.  CALM is a purely voluntary charity with no paid employees.

We aim to keep all expenses as low as possible, so we can ensure money donated can help the families who need it.  CALM receives no funding from the NHS. All funds are raised by our families, with support from the local community.
